Illinois State Athletics will be home to a tripleheader Saturday, Nov. 19, when the Redbirds host games in football, men's basketball and volleyball. To accommodate the faithful fans, ISU Athletics unveiled an inexpensive way for patrons to enjoy all three events, at one low price.
The "Day with the Redbirds" is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., when the No. 14 ranked Illinois State football team closes its regular season at Hancock Stadium against No. 5 ranked Northern Iowa. At 4 p.m., the Redbird men's basketball team hosts Lipscomb in the second game of the 2011 Cancun Challenge. The night wraps up with a 7:30 p.m. volleyball match between Illinois State and Missouri State, also the regular-season finale.
Patrons can purchase tickets to the ISU football game for $10 apiece, $9 off the regular price. In addition, with a purchase of a football game ticket, fans will be admitted for FREE into both the men's basketball game and volleyball match taking place later that day by showing their football game ticket.
ISU Athletics will also reward its men's basketball and volleyball season ticket holders, who aren't football season ticket holders, with a voucher for FREE admission into the football game. The vouchers can be picked up at the Illinois State Athletics Ticket Office at Redbird Arena, or at Hancock Stadium on the day of the game. Those customers are eligible to receive the number of vouchers equal to the number of their season tickets.
Because of the three events, parking will be at a premium. ISU Athletics will park both football and men's basketball pass holders for the Turner Lot (Red Lot for FB and MBB), while having overflow available in the G-53 Lot (Orange Lot for MBB). In addition, ISU Athletics will allow men's basketball season ticket holders with green and blue passes to park in their respective men's basketball parking lots, including in the East Stadium and Ropp Lots for the football game without having to pay the normal tailgate entry fee while spaces remain available
