NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State Athletics continues to expand its television outreach and has partnered with Comcast cable to broadcast two Redbird women's basketball games this season in the Bloomington-Normal market. The games will be televised on channel 74.
The scheduled broadcasts include the Dec. 9 home contest against Western Kentucky and the Feb. 12 game versus Bradley on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Both games will be produced by Illinois State Athletics production partner Niles Media Group.
"We are continuing to find ways to increase the exposure of the Illinois State Athletics Department, and promote the successes of our student-athletes and coaches," Illinois State Associate Athletics Director for Athletics Communications Todd Kober said. "We are thankful for the commitment to Illinois State Athletics from Marty Monical and all our friends at Comcast, as well as the talented production team at Niles Media Group."
The broadcast talent for the Illinois State-Western Kentucky game will feature the 2010 Jim Nance College Sportscaster of the Year John Twork on play-by-play, and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Hall of Fame member and former Illinois State head coach Jill Hutchison as the analyst. Hutchison will join WMBD sports director Kurt Pegler for the Feb. 12 game between the Redbirds and Bradley.
