NORMAL, Ill. - Katie Broadway and Emily Hanley led the Redbirds to their 12th-straight Missouri Valley Conference win at home, as Illinois State (15-6, 7-3 MVC) defeated conference foe Indiana State (11-10, 5-5 MVC), 75-52, on Doug Collins Court at a packed Redbird Arena, Saturday afternoon.

Saturday's victory put ISU at 10-0 at home this season and marked the fourth time in school history that the Redbirds have had a double-digit winning record at home without a loss.

Broadway recorded 17 points against the Sycamores, as Hanley was just one point behind her with 16 in the contest. Shala Jackson assisted in the big win for the Redbirds, as she tallied 12 points and eight rebounds. Kenyatta Shelton pulled down eight defensive boards, recording ten total rebounds in the game.

Indiana State opened up the scoring in the first two minutes with a three pointer by Kelsie Cooley and two free throws gave it a 5-2 early lead. The Redbirds went on a 6-2 run to pull out front 11-7 with 14 minutes remaining in the first half.

After back-and- forth scoring for majority of the half, Broadway capitalized on two Indiana State turnovers to make back-to-back buckets, putting the Redbirds ahead, 23-18. Taylor Whitley and Shannon Thomas teamed up to bring the game within three points, 25-23, at the 3:20 minute mark. Anna Munn then converted a three-point attempt to even out the score, 25-25. Deja Mattox kept the three ball rolling for the Sycamores, as she made a deep three to take the lead, 28-26.

Hanley made a layup after Shelton saved a loose ball, bringing the `Birds within one with one minute remaining. Shelton dished the ball to Broadway with just 45 seconds remaining, as she made a three pointer from the elbow, putting ISU back in front, 31-29. The Sycamores' Brittany Schoen made one final scoring attempt in the half, as she converted a mid-range jumper to give Indiana State the lead going into halftime, 32-31.

Indiana State's Whitley accounted for nine of 32 points for the Sycamores, four of which were made free throw attempts.

Illinois State recorded eight points off of seven Sycamore turnovers, as Indiana State only converted three points off of five Redbird turnovers in the first half.

Jackson's two field goals started the Redbirds off in the second half, as ISU went on a 20-4 run in the first nine minutes of the second half, and continued to build momentum as the Redbirds recorded 24 points of 19 Sycamore turnovers in the contest.

Hannah Spanich's three-point field goal added to the `Birds growing lead, giving ISU a 21-point lead with six minutes remaining in the second half.

The Redbirds will continue to seek rebuttal this Thursday as they host Wichita State at 7:05 p.m., at Redbird Arena on Doug Collins Court.
