NORMAL, Ill. – This week’s schedule for Redbird All-Access and Birdcast, Illinois State Athletics' internet multimedia platforms, will feature exclusive coverage of Redbird softball, baseball and gymnastics.
Redbird multimedia coverage for the week begins Monday, with theRedbird Rewind Birdcast, a recap of the previous week in Redbird Athletics and previews for the week to come.
Redbird softball opens its home play Tuesday evening, as the 'Birds battle against in-state foe Illinois. The first pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon marks opening day for Illinois State baseball at Duffy Bass Field. The Redbirds face-off against the Cougars of Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 3 p.m. Shortly following the end of the game, a post-game interview with head coach Mark Kingston will be available for on-demand listening. The Melinda Fischer Show will also be available on Birdcast on-demand Wednesday.
The next addition to The Mark Kingston Show premieres Thursday afternoon on Redbird Birdcast. The on-demand podcast episode will feature Coach Kingston discussing last week’s game highlights, along with a preview of this weekend's series.
A special podcast interview with head gymnastics coach, Bob Conkling ,will be posted on Redbird Birdcast Friday afternoon for on-demand listening. Redbird fans can listen to Conkling preview this weekend's Midwest Independent Conference competition.
Other action for Redbird athletics occurs on the field, as ISU baseball plays its first game of a three-game series against Austin Peay. Game one is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Following the game, a post-game podcast interview with Kingston will be obtainable for on-demand listening.
Redbird softball hosts a double-header against longtime rival, the Bradley Braves, in its first conference matchup of the season. Game one is slated for noon, with the second game beginning roughly at 2 p.m. Redbird baseball also comptes on Saturday afternoon in its second game of the series. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. Coach Kingston's post-game interview will be available shortly after the game commences.
Redbird All-Access coverage comes to a close Sunday afternoon, as ISU softball plays in its last game of the series against Bradley at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium. Start time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
Illinois State baseball finishes its three-game series against Austin Peay Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Coach Kingston's post-game on-demand interview will be obtainable shortly after the game.
