NORMAL, Ill. -
Even though the 2010-11 athletic season is still in full swing with spring sports currently competing, the Illinois State Athletics Department and its marketing office are already gearing up for the upcoming 2011-12 season. With that effort comes the call for current "Red Alert" members to renew their "Red Alert" passes for the 2011-12 athletic season for a chance to win great prizes.
The year-long pass offers "Red Alert" members first priority for available student tickets and/or admission to regular season home athletics events. Passes for the 2011-12 school year cost just $50, and students that sign up before April 29 at 5 p.m., will be eligible for the prize drawing which includes four two-ticket packs to the Chicago Cubs-St. Louis Cardinal game Wednesday, May 11 at 7:05 p.m., at Wrigley Field, or a free "Red Alert" pass.
"Red Alert" members can renew their passes electronically by logging into their iCampus account (www.icampus.ilstu.edu), by returning a renewal form which will be mailed to their campus address, or by coming out to Duffy Bass Field for the "Pack the Park" game, as the Redbird baseball team hosts Illinois April 19 at 4:30 p.m.
All the students who renew their "Red Alert" passes at the "Pack the Park" event will be entered into a special drawing for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Cubs-Cardinals game. There will be two winners drawn that night. In addition, the first 500 students in attendance will be admitted to a free cookout sponsored by "Red Alert." The gates will open at 3:30 p.m., for this special event.
There will be an additional drawing for two more pairs of tickets to the Cubs-Cardinals game, along with the free "Red Alert" pass on April 29, following the 5 p.m. deadline.
"Red Alert" student group members will receive a complimentary T-shirt to wear at Redbird athletic contests, which will be available in August 2011. Other "Red Alert" benefits include an e-newsletter, membership into the "Red Alert" Rewards Program and text message updates about upcoming events and promotions.
