2011 Redbird Golf Classic Registration Form 
NORMAL, Ill. -
With pleasant weather around the corner, it means that it's time to hit the links once again for the annual Redbird Golf Classic, which will be held Friday, June 10, at the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Weisbecker Scholarship Fund (WSF), the annual fundraising arm of Illinois State Athletics. The WSF utilizes privately cultivated funds to cover the increasing scholarship costs of more than 400 ISU student-athletes.
The festivities will begin at noon, when competitors can sign-in and then enjoy a kick-off luncheon sponsored by Subway. Play will start at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start and the format will be a four-person scramble. Participants will have the opportunity to qualify for prizes throughout the course, including a new vehicle donated by O'Brien Mitsubishi for the winner of the hole-in-one contest.
When play is over, participants will be treated to a catered dinner provided by Moe's Southwest Grill, with special guest speakers and prizes. Registration cost is $150 per player or $600 for a team of four and spots are limited to the first 120 entrants. Flag and tee sponsorships are also available.
Doug Banks, ISU Associate Athletics Director for Development, believes the outing is a great way for donors and supporters to interact with each other and with the university's coaches and student-athletes.
"It's a great opportunity for people to support our student-athlete scholarship fund and enjoy a great day of golf at the Weibring Golf Club," said Banks. "We involve a number of coaches and student-athletes during the day, which allows participants to speak with those individuals who directly benefit from their contributions. The golf outing continues to grow each year and we are looking forward to having another great turnout for the event."
