Incoming Illinois State freshmen basketball players Johnny Hill and Nick Zeisloft will begin their team-building skills on June 25, at 7 p.m., as the Redbird tandem will suit up for the North squad in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Annual 3A/4A All-Star Game at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill.
Hill, a 6-foot-3 guard, is a product of Glenbard East High School. As a senior, Hill averaged 20.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while leading the Rams to a third-place finish in the Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Tournament. The Rams finished the season with a 28-4 mark, which was the highest victory total in school history.
Zeisloft, from Lyons Township, is a 6-foot-4 sharp-shooter. He averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game, as a senior. He finished his career with 108 made three-pointers. The Lions finished the 2010-11 season with a 26-3 record, after falling to the eventual state champions, Chicago Simeon, in the sectional finals.
The North squad features 10 NCAA Division I signees, including Hill and Zeisloft, as Illinois' Tracy Abrams, Mychael Henry, Naana Egwu and Michael Shaw; Evansville's Ryan Sawvell, Northern Illinois' Zach Miller, Northwestern's Mike Turner and South Dakota State's Zach Monaghan round out the roster.
