Miller Set to Compete in the LPGA Futures Tour

June 3, 2011

NORMAL, Ill. - Former Illinois State golfer Stacey Miller will compete in the 2011 LPGA Futures Tour over the summer with the first tournament beginning this weekend. Miller will compete in Marion, Iowa, in the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge June 3-5 at the Hunters Ridge Golf Course.

During her career as a Redbird, Miller won four individual titles, including medalist honors at the 2009 Missouri Valley Conference Championships after shooting a 9-over par 225 (74-71-80). The Bloomington, Ill., native was also a three-time All-MVC selection and led the Redbirds to three Valley titles and three NCAA Regional appearances. Miller earned several MVC Athlete of the Week honors during her career. Also during her successful career at ISU, Miller received academic awards. Miller was named to the 2008-09 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team for Division I and was a Valley Scholar-Athlete First Team honoree.

Miller qualified for the Futures Tour after tying for 50th place in the LPGA Qualifying School last fall, shooting 9-over-par 297 in Venice, Fla. She must place in the top-10 on the Future's money list at the end of the season to automatically qualify for the LPGA Tour.
