NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State Associate Athletics Director for Athletics Communications Todd Kober announced the addition of Lauren McLaughlin to the staff Wednesday, as a graduate assistant.
At Illinois State, McLaughlin will serve as the contact for Redbird volleyball, while also handling some play-by-play duties on GoRedbirds.com and wjbc.com. She will also assist in the podcast production for GoRedbirds.com, as well as assisting in home events for men's basketball and women's basketball.
"We are really excited to have Lauren joining the staff," Kober said. "She has a lot of potential and an obvious understanding of the sport of volleyball. I know she will work well with Coach (Melissa) Myers, her staff and the Redbird volleyball student-athletes, and will do a great job in promoting their successes."
McLaughlin, who was a four-year letterwinner on the North Dakota State volleyball team, just completed a six-month internship with the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA. She also interned for one year at the NDSU athletics media relations office.
The Cary, Ill., native earned her bachelor's degree in sport management from NDSU in May, with a minor in broadcasting and journalism. At Illinois State, McLaughlin will be pursuing a master's degree in sports administration.
