NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's and women's cross country teams announced their 2011 schedules Thursday afternoon. The season will consist of seven regular season meets, including one home meet, which will be held on the D.A. Weibring Golf Course at Illinois State University.
The Redbirds will begin their season at the Hawkeye Invitational (Sept. 2) in Iowa City, Iowa. They will then travel to DeKalb, Ill., to take on Northern Illinois (Sept. 10). Following that meet, the Redbirds return to Normal, Ill., for their only home meet of the season, the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships (Sept. 16).
ISU will have the rest of September off and will return to competition at the Greater Louisville Classic (Oct. 1) in Louisville, Ky. Next, the Redbirds will travel to Peoria, Ill., for the Bradley Classic (Oct. 14). From there, the Redbirds will return to Central Illinois to compete against in-state rival Illinois in the Illinois-Illinois State Dual Meet (Oct. 21) in Urbana, Ill.
The Redbirds will wrap up their regular season at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships (Oct. 30) in Terre Haute, Ind.
