Aug. 10, 2011

NORMAL, Ill. - WFMB Sports Radio 1450 in Springfield continues to be a part of the Illinois State Redbird Radio Network, broadcasting men's basketball for the 18th-straight season.

"Illinois State Athletics has such a strong and stable relationship with WFMB and we continue to value our partnership with Kevin O'Dea and his entire staff at Neuhoff Media Springfield," Illinois State Associate Athletics Director for Athletics Communications Todd Kober said. "ISU has a strong contingent of fans and alumni in the Springfield area and we appreciate Kevin's support to promote Illinois State Athletics."

Final formatting on which basketball games will air has not yet taken place, since Illinois State's entire competitive schedule has yet to be finalized. A final broadcast schedule for the 2011-12 season will be issued at a later date.

"Neuhoff Media Springfield and Sports Radio 1450 has enjoyed a long relationship with Illinois State basketball," O'Dea said. "The response to airing the Redbird games over the last several years has been very positive, especially from area alumni. We look forward to a successful 2011-12 season and many more in the years to come."

Other Redbird Radio Network stations include WJBC-AM 1230 and FM 93.7 in Bloomington (flagship), WZPN 96.5 FM ESPN in Peoria and WDZ-AM 1050 The Fan in Decatur, while negotiations with other stations throughout the state are ongoing.
