NORMAL, Ill. - For the ninth-straight year, Illinois State Athletics will host the "Taste of Redbirds" event in Horton Field House prior to the Illinois State-Southern Illinois men's basketball game Saturday, Jan. 28, on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
This year's "Taste of Redbirds" will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m., prior to the 3:05 p.m. tipoff between the in-state rival Redbirds and Salukis.
Admission to the "Taste of Redbirds" is free, but tickets for food and beverages (while supplies last) will be available for purchase at the event. Participating local vendors include Alexander's Steakhouse, Avanti's Italian Restaurant, Bandanas BBQ, Beer Nuts, Buffalo Wild Wings, Denny's Doughnuts and Bakery, D. P. Dough, Famous Dave's, Jimmy Johns, Moe's Southwest Grill, Reality Bites and Times Past Inn with a potential for more to be added prior to the event.
In addition, the Reggie Fun Zone will be set up in the field house, which will include inflatables and a climbing wall from Upper Limits. The Zoo Lady will also be in attendance to paint faces for kids at the event and the The Alamo II will be on hand with discounted Redbird merchandise for sale. The ISU pep band will cap off the event with a performance just prior to 2:30 p.m.
