Jan. 16, 2012

NORMAL, Ill. - The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows are on the air tonight, live from the Pub II in Normal, Ill. Fans can listen live on GoRedbirds.com, as Stephanie Glance and Tim Jankovich preview the four Redbird games next week, including two home games for the women's team and a home game for the men's team before traveling to Evansville, Ind., to take on the Purple Aces.

The Stephanie Glance Show, co-hosted by RC McBride and Jill Hutchison, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Coach Glance will be joined by junior guard Jamie Russell, the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week. The women's team will host Drake Friday and Creighton Sunday. ISU dropped its last game at Northern Iowa (Jan. 14), 79-73. Russell has had six-straight games with double-digit scoring efforts, starting Dec. 22 at Michigan. Against UNI, the junior guard just missed a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Russell was 9-of-17 from the field and was perfect (4-of-4) from the charity stripe. In the game against the Panthers, Russell had 15 points in the second half with nine of them coming late in the game.

The Tim Jankovich Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Coach Jankovich will be joined by junior forward Jackie Carmichael. The men's team looks to get back to its winning ways after dropping three-straight Valley games. The men's team will host Indiana State Wednesday before traveling to Evansville for a game Saturday. The Redbirds last game was against Drake (Jan. 15), when ISU fell, 77-60. Carmichael is the leading scorer for the Redbirds and is currently averaging 12.9 points and eight rebounds per contest.

For those not able to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC and on GoRedbirds.com.
