NORMAL, Ill. -
With over five years of corporate partnership experience at the NCAA Division I level, Andrew Bond will bring that knowledge to Illinois State Athletics as the director of corporate partnership, as the department continues to restructure its external areas.
"In the past, our marketing department housed both marketing and sponsorships, but in effort to provide more focus and attention on each of these critical areas we have split the responsibilities," Illinois State Associate Athletics Director for Communications Todd Kober said. "We are really pleased to have someone with Andrew's experience and background to build this department from the ground up. He has a commitment to building strong relationships with our corporate partners and has a tremendous knowledge of the multimedia business."
Bond is looking forward to joining the Illinois State staff and will officially start on March 19.
"I am excited to become a part of an incredible staff here at Illinois State, and look forward to building meaningful, long-term relationships with the business communities here in Bloomington-Normal and beyond," Bond said.
Prior to joining the Illinois State staff, Bond worked three years at the assistant general manager for IMG College at Wake Forest. With IMG, Bond directly managed approximately 40 corporate partnerships, which totaled nearly $500,000 in annual revenue. He also developed and introduced new promotional concepts and marketing platforms, while also implementing sales and marketing strategies that increased revenue and partnership growth.
Bond also worked two years as a senior account executive with ISP Sports at Cincinnati. With ISP, Bond managed and directed the Bearcat game-day operations and the implementation of all partnership activities. He also managed all partnership inventory tracking, ticket allocations, hospitality events, website activation and in-venue digital displays.
Before working at ISP, Bond served as an intern for Michigan State Athletics in the marketing and external relations area. As a 2006 graduate of Michigan State with a bachelor's degree in marketing, Bond oversaw the coordination and execution of in-game marketing, corporate hospitality and game-day promotional activities.
The Alma, Mich., native also studied abroad at the business school at Cambridge, in the United Kingdom.
