ISU Softball Hosts StrikeOut Cancer Event

April 10, 2012

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State softball team will be hosting a StrikeOut Cancer event Wednesday evening at Marian Kneer Stadium for its game with DePaul at 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and the team will be selling pink t-shirts for $15. All proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Pink bracelets will be also available at the entrance to Marian Kneer Stadium and a balloon release will also take place prior to the game. The StrikeOut Cancer Program is put on by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and American Cancer Society as a platform to raise awareness, dollars and support for women's cancer research. Since starting the StrikeOut Cancer initiative over ten years ago, NFCA membership teams have raised tens of thousands of dollars to support the fight against cancer.
