NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women’s golf team will compete in the 15-school, 54-hole Indiana Invitational April 14-15. The Indiana hosted event will take place at the par-72, 6,055-yard Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington, Ind.
Head women’s golf coach Darby Sligh looks forward to seeing how her squad performs in preparation for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
"This is the perfect tune-up leading into Missouri Valley Conference Championships next week,” Sligh said. “It's a solid field and a tight course which should be a great test. We have put in a great deal of effort to rebuild and prepare since California, so I'm hoping to see solid results from all five of these Redbirds. We need to have the mentality of playing without fear, and I believe we are ready to do that."
Playing for Illinois State will be senior Hannah Bachman, junior Katie Jean and sophomores Brianna Cooper, Rachel Powers and Jordyn Wyzgowski.
Competing schools at the invitational include Ball State, Bradley, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Indiana, IUPUI, Kansas State, Marshall, Missouri State, Toledo, UMKC, Valparaiso and Western Michigan.
Play will begin Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
