NORMAL, Ill. -The Illinois State men's golf team has been picked to finish in third at the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Championship in a pre-championship poll of league coaches, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Awarded the full 81 points possible, defending champion Wichita State was the unanimous selection by coaches to win the tournament. Poll runner-up Missouri State received 72 points, while the Redbirds gathered 56 points. Evansville and Southern Illinois recorded 53 and 45 points, respectively, to round out the top-five.
The 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Championship will be hosted by Wichita State, and will take place April 30-May 1 at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
