ISU Volleyball Recognizes Recreational Sports And Packs The Arena

September 17, 2012

NORMAL, Ill. – As a way to recognize Illinois State students who participate in recreational sports, Redbird volleyball is hosting a “Rec. Appreciation Night” on Friday, September 21, at the match against Missouri Valley Conference foe Northern Iowa. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Redbird Arena.

Upon entrance, recreational sport members will have the opportunity to receive a raffle ticket to be used for two drawings that will take place throughout the evening. Intramural teams could win a free pizza party for their entire team provided by Illinois State Athletics, while watching the game from the Redbird Arena suite, or win a facility tour of the new men’s basketball locker room with associate head coach Dana Ford.

The first drawing will be pulled 10 minutes prior to the start of the match, and the second drawing will take place between the second and third sets.

The following evening, Redbird volleyball returns with its annual “Pack the Arena” night when it takes on longtime rival Bradley, Saturday, September 22, at 7 p.m. at Redbird Arena.

All fans will receive free admission to Saturday’s match after presenting the Pack the Arena coupon upon entrance. Illinois State fans are encouraged to come out in support of the ‘Birds to help set a new record attendance.

As a special treat provided by the University Program Board (UPB), a student raffle will also take place both nights for two free tickets to the UPB All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls concert on Friday, October 12.

Free admission will be provided for all Reggie’s Kids Club members for both matches. Reggie’s Fun Zone will be open one hour prior to the start of each match, where members will have access to coloring sheets, Reggie tattoos and a poster making station. Members are also invited to join the high-five tunnel where the ISU volleyball team will enter the court.
