The 2013-14 Illinois State men's basketball team features 10 newcomers to the squad, including eight student-athletes who are eligible to play this season, as part of a nationally-recognized recruiting class. With so many new faces, RedbirdHD.tv wants to introduce fans to the players who can be seen in action this season on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
Starting today, a video profiling each of the 12 ISU student-athletes eligible to play this season will be available every day on GoRedbirds.com and RedbirdHD.tv. The "Fall Conversations" series begins today with a video featuring Kaza Keane. Not only will fans have a chance to learn more about the 2013-14 Redbirds, but the videos will also serve as a countdown to Illinois State's exhibition game against Quincy on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 4:35 p.m.
While the Redbirds do not have a starter back from last year's team, ISU does feature last season's assist-leader in Keane (3.2) and top three-point shooter based on percentage in Zeisloft (41.8 percent). Illinois State has also received national recognition for its recruits, with Basketball Times ranking the Redbirds' 2013 class No. 29 in its June edition. Additionally, four Redbirds were selected by the Lindy's 2013-14 preview as Top-100 junior college transfers.
After tipping off the regular season Nov. 8 at No. 15 VCU, Illinois State will begin its regular-season home schedule Nov. 12, at 7:05 p.m., versus Drexel. Tickets are on sale now by calling the Redbird Arena ticket office at (309) 438-8000 or by clicking here.
