Redbird Softball Is Ready To Strike Out Cancer

March 26, 2013

NORMAL, Ill. -Redbird fans are encouraged to come out to Marian Kneer Softball Stadium Wednesday, April 3, as the Illinois State softball team hosts its annual Strike Out Cancer game, against Northern Illinois. The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Redbird softball holds its annual Strike Out Cancer game each year as a way to recognize cancer survivors and honor those who have lost the battle with cancer of any type. Every fan in attendance will have the opportunity to receive a pink balloon upon entering the game that they can release during a recognition ceremony for loved ones who have been affected by the devastating disease.

To take home a piece of the game, the softball team will be selling pink Strike Out Cancer T-shirts throughout the duration of play for $15. In addition, April 3, will also serve as a Buck Day where fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs from the concession stand if the weather permits.

Don’t forget, every time an Illinois State pitcher records a strikeout, the ISU Athletics staff will toss a free T-shirt into the stands, so there is always a chance to go home with a prize.

Admission is free for the entire regular season at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium. For more information about Redbird softball, please visit GoRedbirds.com and click on softball.
