NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Athletics Department gears up for another Hornberger-Bass Classic matchup between Redbird baseball and fellow Bloomington-Normal competitor, the Illinois Weslyan baseball team. The game is slated for Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m., at Duffy Bass Field.
Fans will have the opportunity to keep themselves busy during the game by participating in Redbird Bingo. Upon entering the facility, fans can pick up a bingo card containing a variety of possible plays that can occur throughout the game. If a fan gets a bingo, the winning card can be used to redeem a prize!
Entering the game, the ‘Birds are 83-70 all-time against IWU. The teams first met on the field in 1890 and have been unable to play the past two seasons due to rained out games. The last time the two teams met, Illinois State captured a 12-4 victory, on April 27, 2010, paced by a 2-for-4 day from Kevin Tokarski.
Admission is free for the entire baseball regular season at Duffy Bass Field. For postseason play, Illinois State will play host to the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championships. Session tickets will be sold for $30 from the Illinois State Athletics Tickets Office.
