NORMAL, Ill. - With the return of the Kentucky Derby next weekend, the Illinois State baseball team wants to extend part of the derby tradition to Duffy Bass Field, by asking fans to wear the craziest hat they own to the ballpark Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m., when the ‘Birds take on the Creighton Bluejays.
For those in attendance who may not have a hat to wear, well then, The Unique Twist will be making balloon hats on the concourse from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for fans to enjoy.
Admission is free for the entire baseball regular season at Duffy Bass Field. For postseason play, Illinois State will play host to the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championships. Session tickets will be sold for $30 from the Illinois State Athletics Tickets Office.
