Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and his staff will conduct five camps this summer, and there is still time to sign up.
An online application is available on GoRedbirds.com by clicking here and scrolling down to "Men's Basketball Camps." A medical form is also available in the same online location. Every camper is required to fill out the medical form and submit it prior to the beginning of camp.
The first Day Camp for boys entering first through eighth grade will take place Monday, June 10 through Thursday, June 13. An emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense. The camp features daily skills competitions, 3-on-3 and team play. In addition, Illinois State players will serve as instructors, and each camper will receive a T-shirt. The cost of the camp is $215 and includes lunch, while running daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A one-day Shooting Camp for boys entering fifth through 12th grade is scheduled for Friday, June 21, from 9 a.m. until noon. Coach Muller will go in-depth on his shooting philosophy. There will also be detailed teaching on shot preparation, footwork and form, with the camp costing $75.
The Father/Son Camp will also take place Friday, June 21, for boys entering first through eighth grade, with the camp running from 1:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. This camp includes various activities that are geared toward creating competition between fathers and sons. The camp, which is $115, will include drills, contests and games instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. Official camp T-shirts will be given to both fathers and sons.
On Saturday, August 3, an Elite Camp will take place for boys entering ninth through 12th grade. This exceptional camp is for players who are serious about playing basketball at the next level. The ISU coaching will be in attendance, running all of the drills, and will be instructing camp with a "hands-on" approach. The camp will take place at Redbird Arena from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., and each camper will receive a T-shirt.
The second, and final, Day Camp for boys entering first through eighth grade will be held Monday, August 5 through Thursday, August 8. The format is similar to the first Day Camp, with the same cost, and each camper will receive a T-shirt.
