ZIONSVILLE,Ind. -
The Illinois State men's golf team moved up in the ranks to finish in 11th place at the competitive Wolf Run Intercollegiate Sunday with a team score of 931 (324-307-300).
After a challenging first day, head coach Ray Kralis was proud that the team was able to recover and push through the final round on such a difficult course.
"We played our best team round of the event and will build off of that going forward." Kralis said. "We did a much better job of staying out of our own way, which is easier said than done on a course that demands so much precision. I like the way we responded after a tough first round and was pleased to finish on a positive note with another big event next weekend."
Kyle Meihofer led the Redbirds with a total score of 231 (79-79-73) to tie for 46th place. Within two strokes of their teammate, Wils Hawn tied for 49th place with a score of 232 (83-74-75), while Tyler Gentilella carded a three-round score of 233 (82-78-73).
