NORMAL, Ill. – Multiple special events and promotions are planned for the Illinois State volleyball team's final home matches of the season this weekend at Redbird Arena. The Redbirds host Missouri State Friday and Wichita State Saturday. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.
Friday's match will be Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night and season ticket holders will be given an extra ticket and a voucher for a free popcorn. Fans attending Friday's match are asked to bring a toy to donate as part of the Toys for Tots of McLean County Toy Drive. Collection boxes will be located at each entrance to Redbird Arena.
Saturday's match will be Fan Appreciation Night. Fans will receive a raffle ticket upon entry to the match and raffle tickets will be drawn throughout the match for prizes. Saturday will also be Senior Day for Illinois State's six seniors, as Sierra Burris, Emily Orrick, Stacey Niao, Eliza Smith, Emily Schneider and Kaitlyn Early will be recognized after the match.
The Redbirds (22-5, 16-0 MVC) are in the midst of an 18-match winning streak, which is the third-longest active winning streak in all of NCAA Division I. The Redbirds recently clinched their first Missouri Valley Conference regular-title since 1997 and will enter the MVC Championship Nov. 27-29 as the tournament's top seed.
