NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head volleyball coach Melissa Myers will host her biweekly press conference Tuesday in Redbird Arena's Media Room. Myers' press availability will begin at 12 p.m. She will be joined by seniors Kaitlyn Early, Stacey Niao and Emily Orrick.
The Illinois State volleyball team (24-5, 18-0 MVC) finished the regular season Saturday with a 3-0 home win over Wichita State that capped the program's first undefeated season in Missouri Valley Conference play. Illinois State became the third team in MVC history to accomplish the feat. The Redbirds have won 20-consecutive matches, dating back to Sept. 12, and are now one win shy of the school record for consecutive victories. The 20-match streak is the third-longest active winning streak in Division I volleyball.
The Redbirds enter this week's MVC Championship as the tournament's top seed. Illinois State will take on the winner of No. 4 Missouri State and No. 5 Southern Illinois, on Friday at 5 p.m. The match, played at Northern Iowa's McLeod Center, will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com. Live audio of all of Illinois State's matches this season is also available at GoRedbirds.com.
