NORMAL, Ill. – Members of Illinois State's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) participated in the Clare House's Holiday Food Drive on Friday, Oct. 31, as they went door-to-door collecting canned goods as part of Halloween trick-or-treating.
SAAC is a student group comprised of student-athletes from all 19 of Illinois State's athletic teams, and community service has always been at the forefront of the group's mission. Nearly 60 SAAC members participated Friday and over 575 items were collected.
The Clare House is a local food pantry, now in its 20th year of operation. The Clare House's Holiday Food Drive runs through Nov. 26, and donations can be dropped off at either Bloomington-Normal Schnucks location, or at any Extreme Motors dealership.
