NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State baseball coach Bo Durkac announced his team's schedule for the 2015 Snowbird Classic, to be played March 6-8 in Port Charlotte, Florida, and the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, to be played March 11-15 in Winter Haven, Florida, on Wednesday.
The Redbirds will start the trip with games against St. Joseph's (March 6), Georgetown (March 7) and Bucknell (March 8) before playing a previously announced game at Florida Atlantic, in Boca Raton, Florida, at 2:30 p.m. CDT on March 10. The game with Florida Atlantic is not a part of either tournament.
From there, the Redbirds will play four games in Winter Haven, Florida. The Redbirds will take on Bowling Green (March 11), Maine (March 13), LIU-Brooklyn (March 14) and Butler (March 15).
Start times for the Redbirds' games at both tournaments have not yet been announced.
Illinois State opens the 2015 season with a four-game set at Arkansas State, beginning Feb. 13. They will follow with road trips to Southeast Missouri State and 2014 College World Series champion Vanderbilt, before heading to Florida.
The Redbirds host their home opener on March 18 when they welcome Illinois-Chicago to Duffy Bass Field.
