NORMAL, Ill. - Due to winter weather and poor field conditions, the dates and location of the Illinois State softball team's Missouri Valley Conference- and home-opening series against Drake have been changed. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday at 12 p.m., rather than Saturday, and conclude with a single game on Saturday at 11 a.m., rather than Sunday. Additionally, the games will now be played at the Corn Crib in Normal, rather than Marian Kneer Stadium.
The Redbirds enter MVC play 8-15 overall and are coming of a 2-2 stay at Louisville's Red and Black Classic. Drake will enter the weekend 6-16. ISU was picked to finish second in the Valley preseason poll, while Drake was selected third.
