Marquette, 7 Illinois State, 0 Results
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Marquette proved to be too tough of a competitor for Illinois State, shutting out the Redbirds in every match, resulting in a final score of 7-0 for the Friday afternoon match.
Phyllis Tigges put up a good fight in the Singles No. 1 position against Ana Pimlenta, forcing the match to a third-set tie-breaker before eventually falling, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6. Sophomore Kadi Ilves also battled into a third-set tie-breaker against Laia Hernandez in Singles No. 5, but could not secure a win over Marquette, falling in a close match, 6-2, 7-5, 12-10.
After the results of the day's match, both teams sit at a 7-5 mark overall.

No. 1: Tigges and Madeliene Baillon edged by Ali Dawson and Laia Hernandez, 8-7 (1)
No. 2: Emmie Marx and Sierra Stone fall to Erin Gebes and Rocio Diaz, 8-4
No. 3: Heather Nisbet and Ilves defeated by Aina Hernandez and Ana Pimienta, 8-3

Next, the Redbirds prepare to host I-75 rival, Bradley, on March 26 at Gregory Street Courts, which will be ISU's first home match of the season played outdoors. Competition is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
