Redbirds in the Pros Update No. 8

NORMAL, Ill. – Former Redbird Chad Hinshaw had a pretty good weekend.

Hinshaw, playing for the Inland Empire 66ers of the Class A Advanced California League, belted four home runs over the past week and played a key role in the 66ers' recent 10-game winning streak.

The outfielder in the Los Angeles Angels farm system was particularly good in Inland Empire's four-game weekend set at High Desert, going 8-for-19 (.421) with two doubles, four home runs, nine RBIs, six runs and a stolen base in the four-game sweep.

Hinshaw had his best game of the series on Aug. 17, when he hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run homer in the second inning of a 15-0 rout.

Hinshaw is batting .267 with an on-base percentage of .366, 25 doubles, 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and 38 stolen bases in 113 games across two minor-league levels in 2014.
