NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team has added intrasquad games to its fall baseball activities as the team's fall schedule enters its fourth week.
The Redbirds opened fall baseball on Aug. 25 with practices in small groups, before expanding to full-squad practices Sept. 8. The team has held intrasquad games over the past week, with its final two scheduled for Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Both will be played at Duffy Bass Field.
Illinois State welcomed back 17 returning players from the 2014 team that posted a 33-22 overall record and advanced to the title game of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Durkac also welcomed in 17 players new to the program, as well as an all-new coaching staff, featuring assistants Mike Stalowy and Michael Kellar, and student assistants Ryan Copeland and Clint Stroud.
