Redbird Basketball Hosting Strategy and New Rules Forum

NORMAL, Ill. – Over the summer, the NCAA approved several rule changes for men's and women's basketball. Illinois State men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's coach Barb Smith will explain the new rules during a free Basketball Strategy and New Rules Forum, Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.

Muller and Smith will not only educate the crowd about this year's rule changes, but they will also explain strategic adjustments they are making ahead of their respective season openers. Included among the new rules, the men's shot clock will decrease by five seconds to 30 seconds, and the women's game will be played in four, 10-minute quarters, instead of halves.

A question and answer session will follow Muller and Smith's new rules presentation. Wednesday's event is free and open to the public, with free parking available in all lots adjacent to Redbird Arena.
