NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State freshman volleyball player Ali Line has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Line, a middle hitter from Bargersville, Indiana, earned the honor after turning in solid performances at Southern Illinois and Evansville over the weekend, Nov. 13-14.
Line averaged 3.33 kills per set on a .444 hitting percentage over the weekend, and was particularly good in Saturday's win at Evansville, as she matched a career high with 11 kills on a .500 hitting percentage. The freshman middle hitter currently ranks 10th overall in the Valley in hitting percentage (.308), which is the top mark among league freshmen. She ranks 16th overall with 0.80 blocks per set, the third-highest mark among MVC freshmen.
