WATCH MEDIA CONFERENCE LIVE
NORMAL, Ill. – Fans can watch Thursday's men's and women's basketball media conferences, featuring men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball coach Barb Smith, beginning at 1 p.m., from the media room in Redbird Arena. The event will be streamed live on RedbirdHD.tv.
Once Muller is finished fielding questions, senior guard DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and sophomore forward MiKyle McIntosh are scheduled to take the podium. Smith will then address the media at approximately 1:15 p.m. She will be joined by junior guard Taylor Stewart.
After beginning the season with eight games in 18 days, going 3-5, the Illinois State men's basketball team returns to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena to host 2015 NCAA Tournament qualifier UAB Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The Redbirds are coming off of a 75-63 loss at No. 1 Kentucky (Nov. 30) in which Akoon-Purcell and McIntosh netted 22 and 14 points, respectively.
The Illinois State women's basketball team (1-5) also plays Saturday, Dec. 5, traveling to nationally-ranked DePaul for a 7 p.m. tipoff. ISU most recently fell to Illinois-Chicago, 65-57 (Dec. 1), with Stewart totaling four points and three rebounds.
