NORMAL, Ill. – Fans can watch Tuesday's men's and women's basketball media conferences, featuring men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball coach Barb Smith, beginning at 1 p.m., from the media room in Redbird Arena. The event will be streamed live on RedbirdHD.tv.
After Muller is finished fielding questions, junior guard DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and senior guard Daishon Knight are scheduled to take the podium. Smith will then address the media at approximately 1:15 p.m. She will be joined by senior guard Katy Winge.
The Illinois State men's basketball team (15-11, 7-7 Missouri Valley Conference) plays at Bradley Wednesday at 8 p.m., with the Redbirds aiming to sweep BU in this year's regular-season series. Versus No. 13 Wichita State (Feb. 14), Akoon-Purcell scored a team-best 18 points, and Knight recorded a career-high seven assists.
The Illinois State women's basketball team (1-23, 1-12 Missouri Valley Conference) plays its final two home games of the season this weekend, starting against Wichita State Friday at 7 p.m., followed by senior day versus Missouri State Sunday at 2 p.m. Winge was one of two Redbirds to reach double-figures, scoring 10 points in ISU's game at Evansville (Feb. 15).
