NORMAL, Ill. – A limited number of tickets are available for a special luncheon featuring Illinois State men's basketball coach Dan Muller and Southern Illinois men's basketball coach Barry Hinson, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hancock Stadium Club.
"I appreciate Barry being kind enough to come speak at our luncheon next week," Muller said. "This should be a fun and entertaining function with one of the funniest coaches in college basketball. And I will be there too! I hope to see you there."
Organized by the Illinois State Men's Basketball Insider's Club, the Muller/Hinson Luncheon is being held in conjunction with the Feb. 25 Southern Illinois at Illinois State men's basketball game, slated for 7 p.m. on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Muller and Hinson will share stories and field questions related to their experiences as college basketball coaches.
Hinson, the winningest active coach in the Missouri Valley Conference with 207 victories, is in his third season at Southern Illinois. He won over the Saluki fan base with his likable, no-nonsense, common-man demeanor, and last season, Hinson was recognized as runner-up for MVC Coach of the Year. Hinson previously served four years on Bill Self's staff at Kansas from 2008-12, and prior to that, he was the head coach at Missouri State for nine seasons.
