NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will host a three-game series against Missouri Valley Conference foe Missouri State, sponsored by Papa John's, beginning Friday at Duffy Bass Field.
Friday's opener will start at 4:30 p.m. Saturday's game begins at 2 p.m. and Sunday's finale is set for a 1 p.m. start.
Saturday will be "Miracle League of Central Illinois Day" at Duffy Bass Field. The Redbird baseball team will play a game with the Miracle League of Central Illinois, beginning at 10 a.m., before the Redbirds take on Missouri State at 2 p.m. Each Miracle League player have a Redbird baseball "buddy," and the event is free and open to the public to attend. In addition, select Illinois State players will be available for postgame autographs in the dugout following the game with Missouri State.
Sunday will be "Reggie's Kids Club Day," presented by Papa John's, at both Illinois State's home baseball and softball games. There will be a pregame event at Adelaide Street Soccer Field, beginning at 11 a.m. All kids are invited to help paint two murals, which will be displayed at Duffy Bass Field and Marian Kneer Stadium. There will be a bounce house on site and the first 100 kids to RSVP will receive Papa John's pizza. Families can RSVP to Andrew Evans, through April 24, at aevans2@ilstu.edu or (309) 438-3399.
The concession stand will offer $1 hot dogs and $2 dip n' dots, served in a Redbird baseball souvenir helmet, as its featured items. Select Redbird baseball players will be available after the game for postgame autographs in the dugout, and kids in attendance will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game and receive Jason's Deli Kids' Cash.
Admission for this weekend's games, and all Illinois State baseball games at Duffy Bass Field, will be free.
