NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State's University Program Board (UPB) will host "All About That Baseball" Friday when the Redbirds take on SIUE at Duffy Bass Field. The first game of the four-game series begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
All Illinois State University students are invited to the event, which will feature a pregame barbecue tailgate event hosted by UPB, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the first baseline tent. The first 100 students to bring another school's T-shirt to donate to Home Sweet Home Ministries will receive a Redbird baseball 3/4-sleeve T-shirt.
Students will also be able to renew their Red Alert membership for the 2015-16 school year. Red Alert membership is $50 and includes admission to all regular-season home football and men's basketball games, as well as the official Red Alert T-shirt.
Stolfa's Pizza will also sponsor a pizza-eating contest for three lucky Illinois State students, selected at random from the crowd.
Select members of the Illinois State baseball team will be available for autographs after the game in the home dugout.
Friday's game, and all Illinois State home games at Duffy Bass Field this year, will feature free admission.
