NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State baseball rising senior Sean Beesley is off and running in his second season playing for the Northwoods League's Willmar Stingers.
In his second-straight summer playing for the Minnesota-based summer team, Beesley is hitting .318, with a .419 on-base percentage, through the team's first 28 games. Even more impressive, however, has been Beesley's success on the basepaths, as he is a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen base attempts. His 16 stolen bases are the third-most in the league.
Beesley led the Stingers in stolen bases last summer, with 25 swipes, and he has led the Redbirds in stolen bases in each of the past two seasons.
The outfielder from Darien, Illinois, ranks second among Willmar players this summer in runs (18) and walks (16).
