Summer Baseball Update: Beesley Still Running at Willmar

NORMAL, Ill.Sean Beesley etched his name into the Willmar Stingers' record book last night, stealing four bases in a 7-4 win over Alexandria to push his season total to 32, a Willmar single-season record.

The four stolen bases in a game is the most in the Northwoods League this summer. Beesley has led Willmar in stolen bases in each of the past two seasons, and currently ranks second in the league in steals, just two behind the league leader.

The Redbirds' rising senior is hitting .281 with a .402 on-base percentage in 56 games this year in the Northwoods League's North Division. Willmar currently owns a 40-20 overall record, tops in the division and just one game back of South Division leader Kenosha.

Beesley's 61 hits this summer have earned him a share of the team lead, while he ranks second among Willmar players in runs (41) and walks (33).
