NORMAL, Ill. – The Lexington Snipes are playing in the Midwest Collegiate League Championship Series this week, thanks in part to Jake Sale, a rising senior for the ISU baseball team.
Sale has pitched in the third-most games for Lexington this summer, racking up a 2-1 record and a team-leading six saves in 17 appearances. He currently owns a 3.13 ERA and 1.13 WHIP, with 17 strikeouts against six walks in 23 innings of work.
Sale was Illinois State's most heavily-used reliever this spring, as he made a team-leading 30 appearances, the fourth-most single-season appearances in school history. Sale posted a 2-2 record and a pair of saves this spring, with 29 strikeouts in 39.1 innings of work.
Sale pitched a perfect ninth inning in his last appearance, the first game of Lexington's opening-round playoff series against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen.

- Owns a 3-0 record and a 4.65 ERA in 21 appearances, covering 29 innings of work
- Did not allow an earned run over two innings of work in a 7-6 win at Willmar Aug. 3
Daniel Dwyer – Velde – Peoria Sunday Morning League
- Slashing .543/.667/.714 with six doubles and 12 RBIs in 13 games this summer
- Did not allow an earned run in five innings in an 8-2 win July 29
Jack Landwehr – Lakeshore Chinooks – Northwoods League
- Owns a 3.63 ERA and three saves in 11 appearances totaling 17.1 innings
- Picked up his third save with two perfect innings against Battle Creek Aug. 5
Jean Ramirez – Madison Mallards – Northwoods League
- Slashing .304/.386/.452 with 14 doubles, six home runs and 32 RBIs in 56 games
- Competed in the Northwoods League's All-Star Game and Big League Dreams events
