Keene Named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS – Illinois State's Jaelyn Keene has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Tuesday. Bradley's Logan Ketterer was named the MVC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Keene, a sophomore member of Illinois State's volleyball team, turned in one of the best performances of her career Saturday while helping the Redbirds to their first win of the 2015 season. The sophomore middle hitter tallied 16 kills on just 19 attempts, without committing an error, to record a .842 hitting percentage, the third-highest in Illinois State program history. Keene accomplished the feat in a 3-0 win over Florida A&M.
