NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will host three intrasquad games this week as part of its fall season. The Redbirds will play games Thursday at 3:45 p.m., Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m., at Duffy Bass Field.
The games are open to the public, with admission free of charge.
The Illinois State baseball team started fall practices Sept. 7 and will conclude its fall season on Oct. 14, which is also Scout Day. It is an opportunity for professional scouts to evaluate ISU's 2016 draft-eligible players one final time in 2015.
The Redbirds welcomed back 19 players returning from the 2015 team at the start of fall practice, while adding 17 newcomers to the roster.
The 2015 Redbirds posted an overall record of 27-27, including a 9-12 record in the Missouri Valley Conference, which ranked sixth among all conferences in 2015, in terms of RPI.
