NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team will compete in the ITA Midwest Regionals, taking place Oct. 20-24 at Ohio State's Varsity Tennis Center and the Racquet Club of Columbus. The team has earned a record amount of entrances into the regionals, as for the first time under the coaching of Mark Klysner, the entire team qualified and will be competing in the tournament.
"Coming off a very good last weekend in terms of results, I have high hopes we will continue to play as well as we did and at the same time focus on getting better each week," said Klysner. "I'm especially stoked that we got our entire team into the regional tournament as we've never had this many gain entrance to what is such a tough region to play out of."
Last weekend, ISU returned home from the Louisville Fall Invitational where Egehan Sertkaya earned the title after winning his Flight D singles championship match. The Redbirds were featured in three out of the four singles finals and two out of the three doubles finals.
