CoSIDA Release
NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State volleyball player Jaelyn Keene has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District selection, the organization announced Thursday.
Keene, a junior middle blocker from Jacksonville, Illinois, was one of six players named to the All-District 5 team, which included Division I players from schools in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
A standout both on the court and in the classroom, Keene earned academic all-district honors for the second year in a row.
Keene currently leads the Missouri Valley Conference in hitting percentage (.450), aces per set (0.45) and total aces (39); her hitting percentage is currently the second-best mark among all Division I players.
In the classroom, Keene boasts a perfect 4.00 grade-point average as a financial accounting major. She was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team last season and has been named the Valley's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week three times over the past two years.
As an all-district selection, Keene is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced Dec. 8.
