NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan baseball teams gave it their best effort, but the10th edition of the Horenberger-Bass Classic was rained out after one-and-a-half innings Wednesday at Duffy Bass Field. The game will not be rescheduled.
Illinois Wesleyan (16-13) was leading, 3-0, when the game was called after Illinois Wesleyan starter Mike Plecki walked Illinois State's Owen Miller on four-straight pitches to start the bottom of the second.
Wednesday's game had been moved to Duffy Bass Field earlier in the day, in anticipation of rain.
Illinois State returns to action this weekend with a three-game series against Southern Illinois at Duffy Bass Field. The series start with a 6 p.m. game Friday.
