Redbirds in the Pros: Hinshaw Returns

NORMAL, Ill. – In his first game in over two months, former Redbird Chad Hinshaw turned in a performance to remember.

Hinshaw, who started the season with the Double-A Arkansas Travelers in the Los Angeles Angels farm system, made his first rehab assignment start in the Arizona Rookie League Tuesday night.

The Illinois State alum and former Normal Community High School product filled up the box score, going 3-for-3 with a home run, double, walk, three runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base in the AZL Angels' 9-6 win over the AZL Athletics.

Sidelined since June 6 with a strained quadricep, Hinshaw looks to improve his 2016 numbers with a strong finish to the season. This season, he is slashing .203/.301/.333 with seven doubles, six home runs and 14 stolen bases in 56 games.
