NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team will hit the road for the third-straight weekend as it travels to Middle Tennessee's Blue Raider Bash, beginning Friday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Illinois State (3-4) will open the tournament against Seton Hall (2-4) Friday at 2 p.m. before taking on tournament host Middle Tennessee (1-5) at 7 p.m. Friday night. The Redbirds will finish up against Tennessee Tech (4-3) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The Redbirds return to action after winning Mizzou's Tiger Invitational last weekend with a 2-1 record. All three of Illinois State's matches at Mizzou went a full five sets, as the Redbirds posted wins over Miami (Ohio) and Utah. Jaelyn Keene was named the Tournament MVP, and she was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates Jacqueline Twing and Ali Line.
On Tuesday, Keene earned a pair of honors from the Missouri Valley Conference. She was named the MVC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week and the MVC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Illinois State has never previously faced any of this weekend's opponents on a volleyball court and shares no common opponents this season with any of this weekend's foes.
