Keene Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Status

GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the third time in as many years, Illinois State senior Jaelyn Keene has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District selection.

Keene was also a CoSIDA Academic All-America Second-Team selection in 2016.

A senior from Jacksonville, Illinois, Keene has been a standout on the court and in the classroom throughout her career at Illinois State. The senior financial accounting major owns a cumulative 3.97 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. She has been named to the Illinois State AFNI Honor Roll and MVC Academic Honor Roll every possible year and semester. Keene is also a two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete First-Team selection and a three-time MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award winner.

Keene also ranks as one of Illinois State's all-time greats on the court, ranking in the top 10 on Illinois State career lists for points (1,900.5), kills (1,503), total blocks (448) and aces (134). Her current career .370 hitting percentage is on pace to set a new Illinois State career record.

On Nov. 9, Keene was named one of 10 national finalists for the Senior CLASS Award.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-Region recognition, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve on his/her respective team with a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA.

Keene will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. First-, second- and third-team All-America selections will be announced on Dec. 11.
